Kaisercraft Lilac Delight

This card was made for the Verve Friday challenge for May week 3 (I think) over on Splitcoaststampers.  I have not entered for a long time, but I was inspired when I saw all the entries while I was enjoying browsing the gallery last week.  Here is the sketch this is based on :

The patterned papers have been in my collection for quite a while now and they don't get used too often, even though they are some of my favorites.  The entire card uses Kaisercraft supplies apart from the ribbon and the base cardstock.

Enjoy!

Dill Blossom Happiness

Each month on Splitcoaststampers there is a Verve month long sketch challenge called Vive La Verve. On a weekly basis there is a new sketch posted along with 3 photos of rooms. The idea is to use the sketch along with one of the photos for inspiration. My card today was from Vive La Verve for August for week 4, using the photo from room 1.

The patterned paper I used is from SEI 'Dill Blossom' paper pad that I got for $2.00 from the Creating Keepsakes Convention in Charlotte a couple of weeks ago. I just LOVE a bargain!

See you again soon!

No kindness ever wasted....

This week I have a lot of cards from the Viva La Verve sketches during June for you! This is my interpretation of the week 4 sketch using the dreamy colors from the inspiration photo of room number 1. (For those of you unfamiliar with this challenge, check out this thread on Splitcoaststampers.com and you can see all the details - and play along for yourself!).

I normally do not use yellow on my cards because I have a hard time choosing just the right shade, but I think it complemented the pink and white in this card to match the look I was aiming for.

Have a great weekend!

Birthday Boat

This is another card based on a Viva La Verve sketch from June. I used my pad of Stampin'Up! designer papers in Night of Navy and Ruby Red along with a cute little image from their Toy Box stamp set (from about 5 years ago!).

The image is colored in using Copic Markers and PrismaColor pencils and I accented the card with some faux stitching using a white gel pen along with a tiny red button on some satin ribbon just to add a little extra interest.

Thanks for stopping by!

Thinking of 'Sophie'

My Minds Eye always has some delicious papers in their collections and this one is no different. It is called 'Sophie' and has some absolutely gorgeous pinks and purples in rich shades with beautiful subtle patterns. You really should check it out either on-line or at your local scrapbook/craft store.

This card was designed based on a Viva La Verve sketch from June and the colors were inspired from the room photo that contained pink and black accents.

Enjoy!

Sweet Baby Stars

My supply of baby cards is getting low again and so I created this cute one using Fancy Pants Patterned paper in non-traditional baby colors (ie. not pink or baby blue). The coral and faded blue are very sweet together and I like the addition of the white ribbon to pull it all together.

The stars were cut using my Quickutz Squeeze. I don't use this tool too often and have recently gone through a phase of trying to use all the tools and supplies in my cupboard no matter how old they are! I added some faux stitches using a white gel pen to add some more interest and make the stars stand out against the background.

Have a great holiday weekend!

Shells and Lace

As you can tell I am loving my new sunburst border punch! I only got it last weekend and I think I've used it on almost every card this week. Check back through my other posts this week and you'll see what I mean!

This card is for the Vive La Verve June contest week 2. I wanted to use the shell from a Hero Arts set that my husband gave me and it blended perfectly with the Bo Bunny paper with a seaside theme that I bought a couple of weeks ago.

I embossed the shell and it looks 'wet' in real life. Here is close up :

I'll try to make a card without the border punch tomorrow - but I can't promise......

Thanks for stopping by!

Pray without Ceasing

Good morning everyone! Happy Monday to you.....

My card today is a late submission for week 1 of the May Verve Friday Sketches with a Twist. I don't think I kept too closely to the color inspiration photos (as usual!) but I kept to the sketch this time!

I couldn't wait to use my new Basic Grey Max and Whiskers DP and this was the result. No dogs or cats in sight! There are plenty of other choices in the pad and they look great with SU! Chocolate Chip cardstock.

Hope you are having a great start to your week,
Sarah

Tulip Joy

Today's card was my final contribution for the April Verve Sketch challenge. I really enjoyed creating the cards for all 4 sketches. Amber does a great job creating the sketches each week! I didn't win this month but I guess that means I'll just have to play along again next month!

I started creating this card based on the papers I chose. They are from the Sharon Ann collection from Little Yellow Bicycle - so pretty and spring-like! The image is from Watercolor Garden II from Stampin'Up! and is one of my favorite flower images. Of course, I had to include a little butterfly too!

Have a great weekend!

My Family DP Obsession

OK, so I have an obsession with the new Fancy Pants 'My Family' DP! Yesterday's card used this paper and I have now created two more. The left hand picture is for Jen's SFYTT and I am considering whether the right hand one could be used for the April Verve Challenge on Splitcoast.

Here is a close up of the first one :

And now you can see the second one :

Maybe I'll post a card using different papers tomorrow - you never know!

Have a wonderful day!

Razzleberry Verve

Today's post is my contribution to the Vive La Verve April 2010 Challenge from week 2. I turned the sketch 90 degrees and used a little artistic license with the color. I used the pink from one inspiration room (and made it more purple!) and the black from another inspiration room! I just love these Verve Scripture Verses that I have.

Here's the sketch and the inspiration rooms :

Rejoicing Strawberries

Today I wanted to post a card that did not use PrismaColor pencils - I have been using them a lot lately and I needed to challenge myself to create a card using a different kind of image. These strawberry stamps are from Stampin'Up! a LONG time ago, maybe more than 6 years, I think! I used VersaColor pigment ink in Olive and Burgundy and embossed them using clear embossing powder to give them a juicy effect. They look good enough to eat! I hand cut the berries & the leaves and I then layered them using foam mounting squares. Here is a close up of the strawberries :

The sentiment is a Verve Stamp and the papers are from the Lemonade Collection from Basic Grey.

Enjoy your day!
Sarah
